Experience
Wayne Day specializes in financial and turnaround advisory services for both companies and creditors, and has consulted on bankruptcy reorganizations, out-of-court restructurings, mergers, acquisitions and divestitures, liquidations and capital raises. Mr. Day also prepares business valuations, cost reduction analysis and assists management in strategic planning and business plan analysis.
Wayne was hired as the Chief Restructuring Officer and then assumed the Chief executive Officer position for Barzel Industries, an $800 million revenue producer of steel tubes/pipes, plates, roll formed and also a distributor of steel, aluminum and stainless steel products. Barzel operated in both the US and Canada. Wayne managed the day-to-day operations while implementing a sales process and winding down the operations.
Mr. Day was also the Chief Restructuring Officer for Leslie Controls, a public company owned by Circor. Leslie produce valves that control the flow of fluids in the aerospace, energy and industrial markets. Wayne managed all aspects of the bankruptcy process for the Company, allowing the management team to focus on operations.
Wayne was appointed Manager by the creditors of FKF 3, LLC, a privately held real estate lending firm. His analysis of the loans and supporting collateral led to the discovery of a $100 million fraud. His subsequent work activities included investigating fraudulent transfers, liquidating assets, pursuing collection activities and working with counsel on litigation.
Wayne’s prior experiences include working with Zolfo Cooper, Policano and Manzo, FTI Consulting and CCV Restructuring, all restructuring and turnaround consulting firms. He began his career with Price Waterhouse.
Education and Affiliations
Wayne received his BBA in accounting from Rochester Institute of Technology and a MBA from Michigan State University with a concentration in Finance. Wayne is also a Certified Public Accountant, a Certified Valuation Analyst and a Certified Insolvency and Reorganization Advisor.
