Rich Di Vito is an Executive Director at RPA, specializing in restructuring matters for independent power companies. In this capacity, he heads RPA’s asset management team and plays an integral role in a wide range of power matters from execution of portfolio hedging initiatives for clients to running active M&A processes for generation units of all sizes and fuel types.

Mr. Di Vito currently serves as CEO and asset manager for Chief Power, a 1,300 MW controlling interest in two coal fired power plants located in western Pennsylvania. He has served in this capacity since 2020, following a successful restructuring of the defaulted loans which had been secured by the plant interests. Mr. Di Vito also heads the asset management effort for a minority interest in a 900 MW coal fired power plant located in Texas. In this capacity he handles all daily dispatch decisions for the ownership share and leads a team that provides a suite of asset management services for the Chapter 7 trustee charged with administering the minority share.

Prior to joining RPA Advisors, Mr. Di Vito was a Director with StoneCastle Securities where he ran the Distressed Investments group. From 2000 to 2012 Mr. Di Vito was a distressed research analyst for Lehman Brothers and Barclays Capital, where his coverage responsibilities included merchant power, E&P, and renewable and general industrial sectors. He also served as a member of Lehman’s loan workout and administrative agency teams where he worked on loan resolutions for Lehman led deals.

Mr. Di Vito has experience trading a wide range of financial instruments and commodities. He is also highly trained in financial modeling, cash flow and liquidity analysis, covenant development and negotiation, and risk arb/hedging strategies. In addition to these skills, Mr. Di Vito has extensive experience in interim management, board, and fiduciary roles.

Mr. Di Vito holds an MBA in Financial Services from St. John’s University and a Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance from Villanova University. He holds both Series 7 and Series 63 licenses.
